¡Ramadan!
In the last days of class, we have been investigating about the different Christmas traditions around the world. Our group has focused more on Ramadan and a few weeks later, we made an exposition about our research. In that exposition we talk and show photos of our tradition and we try to share the most important values of Ramadan, like: solidarity, empathy, sacrifice...
Here we have a couple photos from our exposition and documentation:
How can we promote respect for diversity values with a Chrismas activity?
Focusing a little more on the activities that we prepared for the day of the exposition, our group disguised itself with clothes typical of Muslim traditions, and we explained two activities:
-The first activity was a salt mural, which represented the mosques where the Muslim pray to their God. Above the mosque we make a moon of salt, because the moon is very important in this tradition, as we explained in the exposition.
-The second activity was to make a fanu, and we realized that almost all the traditions that we present in class, were related to light (candles, lamps, luminous ornaments ...) With the example of the fanu, we can see that not all traditions and cultures are so different among them, and also have similar values.
